m on blog 38;The Intolerance

Image
So,A few months ago, some of us came to know about the word intolerance,I was wondering and curious to know about the root of this special word that led many to return their prestigious awards and marked the begining of a tradition, of returning the Hard Earned awards. Intolerance is unwillingness to let other people act in a different way but really we, Indians have become so much intolerant towards our fellow compatriots that these so called intellectuals are returning their awards ?? This was not just my question or thinking but many like me were pondering over this. Then I found out the reason how this difficult pronouncing word upsurged in the market and the one who or rather which were responsible are  the words Ghar Wapsi (Home Coming), Beef ban (These two are some other topic for some another day) . And irony is that In reality(what I could see from my surrounding) there were nothing like intolerance,Ghar Wapsi ,Beef ban.All these were markete...

That spacious two bedroom apartment at the third floor was shared by 4 young women. None of us knew each other before; online hunt for an accommodation in a metro city brought us together. It's been a month, everything was good and we were still getting to know each other & the city. That was a Sunday night; we went straight to bed around 12.30 am after roaming around the city and a late night dinner. Our room had two queen size cots, in between the two cots were a small coffee table and a chair. When I rolled over amidst sleep I saw my roommate sitting on the chair, she had her hands supported on the coffee table. I checked the time on my mobile in the dark, it was 02:30 am. I asked her what is she doing at the middle of the night and fell back to sleep even before I got a reply. Next day was a typical Monday morning. We all got up late and rushed to work. After a long day I reached home around 09:00 pm, one of the flat mates was watching TV, other two were yet to arrive...

m on blog 36; "Earn Through Facebook"

Image
You can earn $7 per hour or $13.5 per hour depending on where you are located. No upfront money required. Let me show you how. Remember this Facebook pic of a Napalm girl removed by Facebook on September last year? That’s right. Facebook’s algorithm detected this pic and removed it thinking it was child porno! How ridiculous ! It was only after massive outcry that Facebook let users’ re-post this iconic image. My point being - Social media like Facebook needs human evaluators in-spite of its nerdy algorithms. Algorithms couldn’t detect whether that image was a porno or not. It couldn’t understand its historical significance. That’s where humans comes in to play. That’s where Social Media Evaluators and Social Media Moderators comes into play. And you my friend can be one of them right after you finish reading this post. Let’g go a little deeper in to these two positions, shall we? SOCIAL MEDIA EVALUATORS Social Media Evaluators are people who evaluate s...

“You don’t have the right to end the life who is yet to see this world..” this was the Judge’s last statement .     Compassion ,it seems has no place in the corridors of power dominated solely by electoral considerations. Nothing else perhaps can explain the plight of the 14 yr old rape survivor of Bareily who lost the legal battle to abort her unwanted child. I am not here to oppose or support the judgement .May be the Judgement is right as we don’t have the right to kill someone but can we imagine the challenges that the girl will face who even don’t know how to feed herself. Her tale is poignant and powerful enough to melt hearts: Just imagine a young unwed mother saddled with the onerous task of bringing up a child in a poor family that struggles to feed its members. For say we have the government , a no. of NGOs, the society to help her but we better know how she will be treated by them. When a soldier give his life fighting for the country , When ...

Is money everything  ?? A question to ponder…..!! let me share a story which one of our faculty shared with us.   What will you do when someone pay  you for sitting idle..??  He asked.. And everyone answered  the same  ,”We will accept the offer and whomsoever will decline is the fool of the century.” He laughed hearing our answer and said never accept the offer which pays you for doing nothing. We were surprised seeing his reaction.. He continued ,Money is not everything in life though it is not EVEN LESS than everything but there are situations in life when it does not matter at all. Coming back to the question.. you all are pondring over ,why we should reject the offer. Everyone is born with or earn talent  which remains with us till the time we are using it somewhere.. and when we are not in practice ,it will get useless and lost. How..?? ryt. He said Just imagine a situation ,you are a d...

m on blog 32 ;" A day in a Train "

Train journeys in India have always fascinated me. A 24 hour drive on any route, in any direction, and you savor your senses with every sight that this country has to offer. From bucolic country-sides to sedative garbage dumps – you get to see it all. Not to mention, a variety of interesting people, you meet on the way who challenge the ambiguity of an Indian mind, its awkwardness, or better put, its ludicrously confusing state – every minute.   I am writing this as I struggle to grab myself from an arresting view of open farmlands, perfectly beautified by a group of silent, comely hills in the backdrop (near Mumbai) – something far more magical than the open skies of an airplane’s window. And only a few seconds later the landscape changes into an almost dried, soundless river, with a couple of fishing boats in it – battling to acquire their routine dinner. Suddenly I realised that this is nothing. I’ve still got a lot more to see and a plenty more to experience – as in...
