m on blog 41; How To Deal With Failure
Success and Failure are an important part of our lives. There
are times when things don’t go the desired way and we call this as Failure.
This is the only phase that teaches us many things. It helps
us to know the reality of the surrounding people, the people we trust.
Steps to Deal with Failure:-
1. You should Have faith
in Yourself and you have to believe it’s just a temporary period.
2. In this phase we tend to develop a negative notion (perspective)
towards life and develop an over thinking attitude. So, just stop thinking too
much, only concentrate on your goals. There should be Nothing in your mind except your Goals.
3. Try to analyze where are you
going wrong. What are the things coming your way, just try to find out and
start working on it.
4. Sometimes we develop a fake world around ourselves and start
finding excuses in everything. Remember one thing If there is anyone between Success and Failure then it is You,
neither your family nor this society. So, try to live in reality (You Have
Failed) and develop an attitude that somewhere you are doing wrong and try to
find the right way.
5. Make a decision. “Doing
nothing” is certainly an option … but it’s a decision in itself and often one
that won’t lead to anything positive. Your decision might require some deep
thinking. You can help yourself to make better decisions by getting some extra
advice and support with a particular area of your life or reading and learning
more, if a lack of knowledge led to your failure.
6. Forget the past and focus on the
future. The quicker you can deal with failure, the quicker you are ready
for success. Your past is past! It’s water under the bridge. You can’t change
it so you may as well stop worrying about it. Take stock of what you have
learnt. Repackage your knowledge, experience, skills and move on to accomplish
your purpose.
Remember If you fail, you are one
step closer to succeeding; you are smarter and more savvy because the knowledge
you have gained through this experience.
History has shown that the most
successful exploits frequently came on the back of failure. Just think of Winston
Churchill. He failed the sixth grade and was defeated in every single
election for public office until he became Prime Minister at the young age of
62. Or, how about Albert Einstein. He did not speak
until he was four years old, and couldn’t read until he was seven. His parents
thought he was “sub-normal.” He was expelled from school and his teachers
described him as “mentally slow, unsociable and a drip forever in foolish
dreams.” You see where I am going with this. Failure is actually on our side. Failing
allows us to grow, learn, and find new opportunities.
Research out of Stanford University has shown that those who are the top of their field are
the ones who have failed the most. Having to persevere to learn a new skill
gives you the advantage over someone who gets it right first time.
What I Believe:-
Don’t view failure as bad luck,
instead look at each attempt to reach your goals as a triumph. There’s always
something to learn, ways to grow, different viewpoints to see, and new
opportunities waiting just around the corner. So get in and have a go.
Fail fast and recover quickly to try again. Use every failure as an opportunity
to learn and to grow as a person. Remember that every failure is like one step
on the stairway to success. Above all else, remember this: If you never fail,
you will never succeed.
